Locksmith in Tel Aviv, English Speaking Service, 24/7
Locked out right now? Call 072-371-9895. Our dispatch answers 24 hours a day and we speak English. Tell us what happened and what kind of door you have, and we will give you a price range on the phone. The exact quote is given on site, free, once the technician has actually seen the door.
What we do
- Door opening. Slammed door, key left inside, lost keys. In most cases the door opens without damage and without replacing the lock.
- Broken key extraction from the cylinder, followed by a new key or a new cylinder.
- Lock and cylinder replacement for Rav Bariach, Mul-T-Lock, Shirionit and standard Israeli steel doors.
- Key copying, including protected keys that need a security card.
- Car keys: lost keys, a broken remote, a key that will not turn in the ignition.
- Safes: dead battery, forgotten code, jammed mechanism.
If you are locked out and do not speak Hebrew
Three things worth knowing, because they may be different from what you are used to:
- Nobody can give you a final price by phone. Anyone who does will either raise it on arrival or does not know what is behind your door. The honest way is a range on the phone and a written quote on site, and you should not let work start before you have it.
- You will be asked for ID and proof that the place is yours. A lease, a bill in your name, or the landlord's confirmation. This protects you. A locksmith who does not ask is a warning sign, not a convenience.
- Most Israeli apartment doors are steel with a multi-point mechanism. When the handle suddenly needs force, the door has usually dropped and needs aligning. That is not a broken lock, and it is a much smaller job.
Short-term rentals and sublets
If you are renting short term and the key does not work, or you are a landlord between guests, the usual fix is a cylinder change rather than a new lock. It is a small job and it cancels every key that ever left the apartment. As a tenant you may change the cylinder without permission. Keep the original and put it back when you leave.
What to have ready when you call
- The address and floor, and whether there is a lobby or gate we need to get through.
- What kind of door it is: steel entrance door, wooden door, interior door, or a safe room door.
- What happened and when it started. "Suddenly" and "for a month now" point to different problems.
- Whether a second key exists and whether it works. This changes both the solution and the price.
- If a child or a pet is locked inside, or something is on the stove, say that first.
Frequently asked
- Do you have someone who speaks English?
- Yes. Say so when you call and we will make sure the technician we send speaks English.
- How much does it cost to open a locked door in Tel Aviv?
- It depends on the door and on what actually broke. You get a range on the phone and an exact quote on site, free of charge, before any work starts.
- Will opening the door damage it?
- Usually not. Most lockouts are opened with non-destructive methods. If a mechanism is already destroyed we will say so before starting and show you what needs replacing.
- I lost the only key to my apartment. Do I have to replace the lock?
- Not to get in. The door can be opened without that. But if the key was lost outside or stolen, replacing the cylinder is the only thing that cancels it.
- Do you work at night and on Shabbat?
- Yes, 24 hours a day, including Shabbat and holidays.
